Two Monkeys At The Zoo

Toward the end of Libby's 'recovery' we headed out for a zoo date. It was the perfect activity for a little girl who was fed up with being stuck indoors, since she would be more than willing to ride around in her stroller at the zoo. And the company was excellent, as we met up with Holly and Channing for a last minute play date.

Our little monkeys chattered nonsense between themselves, while their mama's discussed the finer details of life at the zoo. Like, is there a difference between a buffalo and a bison?

And we all ooh-ed and ahh-ed over the 'aminals' we saw...lions and tigers and (polar) bears...oh my!

And this adorable orangutan who was initially a little camera shy.

But without a doubt, it was the seal that was deemed 'most awesome' as he quickly swam through the water challenging the kidlets to find him then doing jumps that illicted pointing and shouts of "Yook, yook" and giggles.

These two have no choice: they will grow up to be the best of friends. Probably get married. Make Holly and I the happiest moms in the world. Look at how cute they are together!

A match made in heaven, right?

After an impromptu picnic, we were in line for the carousel next to the zoo. It seemed like a fair compromise for a little boy who was DYING to go on the rides in ComoTown and a little girl who had no interest in mechanical rides and wanted only to ride a horsey.

It was a exhilarating ending to a relaxed morning at the zoo for two little monkeys. And a big boost toward complete recovery for Libby. Amazing what a little fresh air will do for you!

love always, Kendra
