Somebody had a birthday party this last weekend. Now I know, her birthday isn't until Friday but due to scheduling difficulties (ahem...mama didn't get granted her vacation request) we had her party a little early. It worked out in our favor...it was a beautiful day for a party.
Since July when we were celebrating Poppy's birthday, Libby has been insistent on one thing: she wanted a pink birthday. In her almost-three-year-old mind, this really meant a pink birthday
cake but nevertheless, this mama ran with the theme. Pink, pink, and more pink. And to help tie things together, her pink birthday became one perfectly pink tea party.
Oh, it was so much fun planning for her party.
| Hand made invitations. |
| Pink dyed doily garland. |
| A 'Happy Birthday' banner with teapot and teacup accents. |
| Tea bag party favors filled with some of Libby's favorite things. Clever, right?! |
| A menu worthy of any respectable tea parlor. |
| And of course a pink (cupcake) cake with pink candles. |
Although the party itself was more fun. It wasn't very big, just a few close friends and family. Libby was in heaven, surrounded by some of the people she loves most. And presents...lots of presents.
| Tea with Grace. |
| Trust crafty mama Holly to get in on the noodle necklace making. |
| Channing enjoying a marshmallow pop...hand garnished by the birthday girl herself. |
| New matching outfit for Libby and Bitty Baby. Grammy spoils her. |
Finished off by a chorus of "Happy Birthday" and the blowing out of the candles. She's had lots of practice this summer, helping Poppy then mama to blow out the candles on their cakes. It still took her three tries to blow out her three candles. But she did it.
Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us. Libby and I truly loved having you over for a little tea party. And to my sweet baby girl, Happy Happy Birthday (a little early.) I'll do tea with you any day.
love always, Kendra
